This is the description for the Connected Families podcast, and it is full of godly wisdom along with practical help for you as a parent. To ENRICH you in your walk with Christ...
A piece of inspiring literature: On January 1, 2024, BCS Grandparent Grace Fabian, was called home to be with the Lord. Her life was a beautiful example of what it means to walk with Christ, and if you haven't yet read her story, it is sure to encourage you in your own walk. The book is called "Outrageous Grace" and you can buy it or check it out from your local library.
A bit of teaching on spiritual practices: Do you consider yourself a follower of Jesus? What practical things do you do in your day-to-day life to follow him? If you are interested in learning more about what it means to become an apprentice of Jesus, check out "Practicing the Way". This organization exists to provide free resources to help people do just that - become an apprentice of Jesus. If you're intrigued, this video gives a helpful and thorough overview of the resources along with some tips about how to engage with them.
To help you ENGAGE with your kids...
A bit of fasting: Lent begins in the month of February, and this season is often one in which individuals/communities consider doing some kind of fasting or giving something up. What might it look like for your family to consider some kind of "screen fast"? Could spending less time on screens open up the way for more time for you to get to know each other as a family? Play games together? Go on walks? It may be something worth considering and discussing with your children.
A bit of active and uplifting fun: If you're looking for a way to beat the winter blues, get some exercise, and enjoy great music, consider coming out to the Christian skate night in Shillington! This event, featuring contemporary Christian music, takes place the first Monday of each month from 6-8pm. Good clean fun for the whole family!
